My theory? The Picts are the remnants of a much larger civilization that got wiped out during the Younger Dryas period. They fled to Scotland and brought their strange symbols and stories with them. Im scandinavian, and you cant just be Norse. Norse is just the people who lived in scandinavia 1000 years ago. You cant just magically become Norse. Thats not how it works. Its like saying, oh im native american. You can def be Pagan, but not Norse Pagan. Calling yourself Norse Pagan is rediculous.

Hello, if you want to really know greece you should see an orthodox liturgy (direct descendant of the ancient greek theatre) or see a tama (direct descendant of ancient greek offerings to god Asklepios). there are no real polytheists in Greece, just people pretending to be. Scandinavian (Norse) and Germanic tribes were the same peoples (originally located roughly Northern half of modern day Germany, Frisia, Denmark, Southern parts of Sweden and Norway before 150 bc). Differences in language, beliefs and practices were simply (minor) development over time. ~ Jute/Cimbrian ancestry.

Do you think that they are directional arrows pointing to different tribes. So when traveling it’s a guide or map of where you are. We always think of the leaders of The People but don’t think about the acts and wishes of The People. Trade absolutely was happening. Maybe that footstep is actually a marker for Javelin throwing practice or competition. Try to put yourself in the mindset of if I was a Pict what would I do or how would I live in this environment. You would try to make things easier for yourself when you can but still needed to put in as much hardwork as possible to provide for the people around you, yet still blowing off steam and having fun from time to time. Having talked with people with the McAlpin last name, this seems to be a family story passed down through the generations.
